The Mayan Walled City of Tulum, a fort with the most beautiful view of the Caribbean sea. Right in front of the Mesoamerican Coral Barrier Reef, the main temple stands tall on top of the highest point in the Caribbean coastline. An early visit is one of the must-do’s in the Mexican Caribbean. Surrounded by mangroves and coastal sand dune vegetation, hidden between rocks, fauna sightings are very common. Mayan people must have enjoyed this privileged merchants trading city.
On our tour, our archeological guides accompany you. You can take some of the most spectacular pictures in the region if normal conditions are present.
Once we finish the visit to the archeological site, we continue north, towards the town of Akumal. In Akumal, also known as “the turtle bay”, we will park our car, prepare to get in the water with one of the certified snorkeling guides that help protect the turtles from being harassed. If your dream is to observe turtles underwater, this is the right place for you. Green Sea Turtles graze daily in this bay which is protected from stronger currents. Mainly juvenile turtles can be spotted, but if you are patient, other marine creatures may be seen as well, such as rays and other tropical fish and sea creatures.
