Overview
There’s a staggering amount of Cenotes in the Yucatan Peninsula and it can be overwhelming to choose the right one. I like to go to as many as possible. Each cenote is very unique, but when you have limited time, you want to go to one that exceeds your expectations . We include two places that fulfill that goal in this tour. A beautiful cave, part of the longest flooded cave system in the world, Sac Actun, and an open cenote between mangroves with crystal clear waters that allow great viewing of the fish life from above the water. Have you ever swam in a life-size fish tank? This is a unique setting, surrounded by mangroves and an incredible Cenote only a few meters from the ocean, with the possibility of spotting fish, birds and maybe even more fauna.
Once we finish here we take you to Sac Aktun, located just a 25-minute drive north of Tulum. This spectacular cenote, also known as Pet Cemetery, has an oasis of incomparable beauty, timeless speleological formations (speleothems), artificial and natural lighting. Divers are able to visit places like this one everywhere in the Yucatan Peninsula, but this is the place for snorkelers. As we go through the cave, we can discover all sorts of shapes and colors and spot cave animals that have adapted to these conditions such as bats and even fish.
We finish the tour by having Mexican antojitos for lunch. Great place to end this awe-inspiring tour.
We can change one or both cenotes for another of your preference.
